This page opens straight into ID mode. Pick the document type, choose or take a photo of the front and the back, check the corners, and both sides are placed at their real size on one A4 page, one above the other in the middle of the sheet, just like a photocopy.
Step by step
- Choose the document type: ID card, Bank card or Passport.
- Click Choose photo to use a picture you already have. On a phone you can also tap Take photo.
- The tool finds the card’s four corners and straightens the image. If it gets one wrong, drag the handles onto the corners.
- Repeat for the back, or click Skip the back if you only need one side.
- Click Export to print or download a PDF.
The first time you use the camera or ID mode, the browser downloads a scanner component of about 10 MB. After that it starts quickly.
Print sizes
| Document | Size |
|---|---|
| ID card, bank card | 85.6×54 mm (3.37×2.13 in) |
| Passport photo page | 125×88 mm (4.92×3.46 in) |
These are international standard sizes, so the result doesn’t depend on how far away you held the camera or how many megapixels it has.
If the printout is the wrong size
The usual cause is print scaling. Choose Actual size or 100% in the print dialog. To check your printer, print the calibration page and measure it with a ruler.
